Introduction

GroundPlug® TwisterTM Foundations are designed for extra easy and fast installation – no matter the size of the foundation. On this page you will find our easy step-by-step installation manuals as well as lists of materials and machinery needed to install different GroundPlug® TwisterTM Foundations.

Our larger GroundPlug® Foundations require professional installation by our mounting team – you can read more about larger projects at the end of this page.

Installing GroundPlug® TwisterTM Foundations

If you are installing GroundPlug® TwisterTM Foundations, you need to follow these 6 steps:

  1. Place the GroundPlug® TwisterTM Foundation next to your beam/joist and screw it into the ground with an impact wrench. The top of the foundation should be on the same height as the lower edge of your beam/joist.
  2. Place the L-bracket on top of the foundation.
  3. Place bolt and washer on the L-bracket.
  4. Mount the washer and bolt.
  5. Mount the L-bracket to your beam/ joist with wood screw and an electric screw driver.
  6. Only for vertical structures: Mount bolts to connect the L-bracket with your beam.

Installing GroundPlug® TwisterTM Stabilisers

If you are installing GroundPlug® TwisterTM Stabilisers, you just need to follow these 4 easy steps:

  1. Set a spade in the ground where your post should be located. Move the spade a little back and forth.
  2. Screw your GroundPlug® TwisterTM Foundation into the ground. The location of the foundation should correspond to the centre of your post.
  3. Place the GroundPlug® TwisterTM Stabilizer on top of the foundation and move it into the ground with a hammer. Use a piece of wood between your hammer and the stabilizer to avoid damaging the galvanization.
  4. Mount the GroundPlug® TwisterTM Stabilizer to the foundation.

Installing GroundPlug® TwisterTM Post Brackets

If you are building a project with posts, you need to install GroundPlug® TwisterTM Post brackets. Just follow these easy steps for installation:

  1. Set a spade in the ground where your post should be located. Move the spade a little back and forth.
  2. Screw your GroundPlug® TwisterTM Foundation into the ground. The location of the foundation should correspond to the center of your post.
  3. Place the GroundPlug® TwisterTM Post bracket on top of the foundation and move it into the ground with a hammer. Use a piece of wood between your hammer and the stabilizer to avoid damaging the galvanization.
  4. Mount the GroundPlug® TwisterTM Post Bracket to the foundation.
  5. Mount the post in the GroundPlug® TwisterTM Post bracket.

  • L-bracket, bolt and washer are part of the foundation and included in delivery.
  • Wood screws
  • Not included in delivery. The type of screw needed depends on the wood you are using. We recommend using XX screws as a standard.
  • Impact wrench
  • See the required torque and nut size in the machinery overview below.
  • Screw driver

  • Spirit level
  • Wedges/kiles
  • To align the frame before installing GroundPlug® TwisterTM Foundations.

Machinery overview

GroundPlug® TwisterTM M12 Impact Wrench with a 19mm nut. Minimum torque 1000 Nm.
GroundPlug® TwisterTM M16 Impact Wrench with a 24mm nut. Minimum torque 1500 Nm.
GroundPlug® TwisterTM M20 Impact Wrench with a 30mm nut. Minimum torque 1500 Nm.
GroundPlug® TwisterTM M12
Impact Wrench with a 19mm nut. Minimum torque 1000 Nm.
GroundPlug® TwisterTM M16
Impact Wrench with a 24mm nut. Minimum torque 1500 Nm.
GroundPlug® TwisterTM M20
Impact Wrench with a 30mm nut. Minimum torque 1500 Nm.

Larger projects do usually require larger foundations. This applies for example to projects such as large wooden buildings, buildings with high terrain distance or buildings on soil with low load-bearing capacity. For those kinds of projects, the foundations usually require professional installation by our mounting team.
